Karl H Schultz:

Mr. Schultz has been in the environmental protection field his whole career and since 1994 has worked promoting coal mine methane as an approach to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Mr. Schultz worked in West Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer doing urban environmental management and for nearly ten years for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Climate Protection Division managing its domestic and international coal mine methane initiatives with many missions to China as well. He created and manages Climate Mitigation Works, a technical and market consultancy focusing on greenhouse gas mitigation activities, and co-founded Energy Edge, an energy industry strategy company. Clients include Green Gas international, a coal mine methane integrated project developer, investor and manager, where he is consulting advisor to the Executive Chairman. For Climate Mitigation Works Karl advises on the technologies, markets, and partnerships to develop coal mine gas projects and how to create and manage of project-based carbon credits.

Mr. Schultz is a long-standing member of the international coal mine methane professional community and has been involved in numerous industry initiatives as a consultant, committee member, and author.

Mr. Schultz received an A.B. in History from the University of Chicago and a M.Pl. in Urban and Regional Planning out of the University of Southern California.
